"Dr. Vasil Beron" – Veliko Turnovo
The Vocational High School of Tourism “Dr. Vasil Beron” – Velio Turnovo was established in 1964 as a vocational school for catering. It is a school with rich history and traditions as well as a modern atmosphere. The high school constantly enlarges its fields and maintains them up to date. As a result, the young specialists are highly motivated and have extraordinary professional skills in the promising sphere of tourism, which guarantee their success on the labour market. Also a qualification centre for persons above 16 years old has been established in the high school. The high school now gives priority to the module system of education and training practise – all students do their training practise in prestigious tourism institutions. 
Professional disciplines such as professional foreign language, economics, management, law, computer studies and business communications are taught along with the common disciplines. Presently the school trains 520 students, divided into 20 classes according to 10 professions as follows: Hotel and Catering, Management in Hotel Keeping, Management in Tourism, Technology of Bread and Breadstuff and Confectionery Production, Shop – Assistant Advisor, Culinary, Bartender, etc. Highly qualified teaching staff provides training in well furnished classrooms and workshops for serving, bartending, cooking, bread and confectionery production and computer studies.
The high school is a member of the Bulgarian Association for Rural and Ecotourism (BARET), of the Union of Tourism Schools and is an Associate Member of the Regional Union of Bread Producers and Confectioners – Veliko Turnovo. It works under a number of national and international projects such as the “Life Long Learning and Vocational Education and Training” project, sponsored by PHARE, Leonardo da Vinci Mobility projects. The school has partners in Italy, Portugal, Austria, Romania and Spain. Having started from the lowest level of professional staff-training, our vocational high school has become very respected and popular with students because it contributes to their career success. -Anastasiya YOVKOVA
