Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College

Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan (MSPSBS) is a famous institution of education in Negara Brunei Darussalam, reputed for its high standards in academic performance and achievements in extra-curricular activities.

The history of the college can be traced back to 1966. 23 September 1971 was a landmark in the history of the school as it was on this date that it was officially inaugurated by Al Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien, the 28th Sultan of Brunei, and named Maktab Melayu Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan.

It was in the year 1974, that the school took the first steps towards the implementation of a bilingual education policy and introduced English medium classes. By 1976, there were both Malay and English medium classes. The spectrum changed once again when in 1978. Quality education was no more the prerogative of children from affluent families or the privilege of urban children. High achievers from every corner of the state and irrespective of socio-economic status were then, and are even now, selected for entry into this school.
